- Excuse me? We're not trying to solve a murder here, so I don't need a
- clue. You're the one that immediately pulled out the stats about
- your computer. Look at your second sentence above. Granted you have
- the "will render 10x faster" statement in there (which is bull), the
- point is you're still comparing those renderring times from machines

- JB>Maybe when the PPC Amigas come out that will change.

- I really don't care what processor it runs on. That's not the point I'm
- trying to make.

- Actually, if I remember correctly, Amiga Computing did the tests against
- a P90 with an A4000 '060 (50 Mhz). Too bad I'm at work right now, or
- I'd dig the magazine outta my storage box and post the results here.
- The '060 fairs very well against Intel chips that are 30% faster.
- Gee, better design maybe??? I think so.
-
- JB>p100 renders the standard lightwave texture demo (and here I correct

-
- Again, P100 against a '040. Geesh.
-
- JB>'060 equipped A4000 renders the same scene 3.1 times faster than the
- JB>A4000/040 (Video Toaster user, July 1995). So you're telling me that a
- JB>P90, running just 10 Mhz slower than a P100, renders 2/3 slower? I
-
- Where did I say that??? You're putting words in my mouth.
-
- JB>somehow don't think so. And the P100 is STILL almost 3x faster than
- JB>the '060 based A4000 (not to mention about 3x cheaper). FYI, the

- Comparing apples to oranges again. The Raptor is cool, though, I agree.
- Article in Amiga Computing explains what they used it for in the creation
- of the new James Bond movie called Goldeneye (or something like that).
-
- JB>stock A4000 (two processors, or faster ones, would put it in the 80x
- JB>faster realm of the original speculation).
